Hi Lisa! I am so glad you enjoyed this installment of my Estonian "saga!" I often kid with people and say my favorite destination is wherever I just returned from but Estonia really made an impact on me. And of course the reason for that is all of the really inspiring people I met, including Elina and Jyrki! Part IV is soon to come and you'll have a chance to meet Kadi, Uku and Ergo! Cheers, Meg

Hi Gail! Great to hear from you and glad you are enjoying VFTP! I admire daily your rendering of "Rocky Meadow Bog," which hangs in my front hall! I highly recommend Eric's book and am glad to share a snippet of his quest, which manages to be both entertaining and enlightening! Cheers, Meg

Hi Betty! Yes, the Duke apparently had a talent for both tickling the ivories AND our funny bones! His bon mot is a great reminder for me to not take myself so seriously and try to channel my energy into positivity! I could benefit from such reminders daily! : )

Hi Ayngelina! Thanks for making the time to comment! I have now been twice to the Alhambra and think I could probably visit a dozen times and continue to see new and amazing things. The physical landscape of Granada is awesome and the architecture aint bad either! ) I hope you make it to this part of Spain....and continue to stop into VFTP! Cheers, Meg

Hello Jeffrey
Thank you for your question and concern . . . it opens a dialog that is so necessary. All men benefit by rape because the very threat of rape constricts women's mobility, confining them to "safe" places such as home or anywhere but out in the night. All men retain a measure of power simply by that fact. Fear of violence compromises every aspect of a woman's life. There was a movement a few years back called "Take Back the Night" where women went out en masse after dark and there was the idea promulgated that men shouldn't be allowed on the streets at night. But your desire for clarification, understanding and I hope empathy is a wonderful thing.

Liz -- I enjoyed your post very much -- your senses are keen and your writing conveys it.
Maybe this isn't the place for it, but I'm having trouble with your comment, "all men benefit from rape." I'm the first to admit I'm often clueless, but what do you mean by this?
Whatever you may feel the broader significance of the existence of rape -- whether that means women are exploited, held back, abused...whatever -- I'm curious how you think I might benefit from it.

I so enjoyed this, Meg! Can't wait to read the next installment. Elina and Jyrki's love story is beautiful! Tartu itself seems particularly compelling.
