I'm half Bohemian! My mother was Czech and my maternal grandmother’s maiden name was Vasilchik. When I was growing up, the worst thing in the world was to be called a Bohunk - we didn't want anyone to know where we were from.
Ironic that, after spending so many years trying to be someone else and then spending more years trying to find myself, I learn that my heritage has become "hip". My definition of the Bohemian lifestyle is "live and let live".

Thanks for making me proud to be a "Bohunk", Meg!

Like Allison, I really love the blogs and am making them part of my morning routine. Your inspirational quotes and your photos are so perfectly fitted to your personal contemplation. Like you and the gypsies, I seek to be untroubled by the disapproval of others, although it remains a quest, not an accomplishment.
Thank you for sharing your journey.

I love the new blogs you've added to the daily view. They are packed with amazing history, eloquently written, concise and introspective. They seem to sum up my Journey so well. It is such comfort to know others have traveled the same path. You definitely rate as a top travel writer and philosopher - What a gift to share with the world.
Thanks
